This weekend, the Monza circuit hosts what has been a busy season for the two Brazilian Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) students. Enzo Fittipaldi in the European Formula Regional Series and Gianluca Petecof in the Italian Formula 4 championship are both aiming for the runner-up spot.
Formula Regional. At the penultimate round, the Formula Regional title went to Frederik Vesti, leaving Fittipaldi and David Schumacher to battle it out for second. The FDA driver is on 306 points, with a lead of 41 over his closest rival, thanks to two wins and 12 top three finishes. At Monza, Fittipaldi is aiming for the podium, to make up for the disappointment of a tough previous round in Mugello.
Formula 4. Petecof is also out to do well, after he too had an unlucky time of it in Mugello. The title in this series has also been decided and all eyes will be on the battle for second between the two Prema team-mates, Petecof and Paul Aaron. The Brazilian has a 25-point lead, but with three races over Saturday and Sunday, there will be no room for error. The action gets underway on Saturday with Race 1, with the second and third races on the following day, bringing the curtain down on the season.
