The Ferrari Driver Academy student ended a season which he led from start to finish with a final win in Abu Dhabi
Charles Leclerc signed off a triumphant 2017 season with another win. Having already taken the title in Jerez, the Monegasque driver continued to add to his points tally in Abu Dhabi, winning Race 2 after a feisty charge up the order to claim his seventh victory of the season. Having started from the fourth row of the grid, Leclerc was up with the leaders with five laps remaining and in the closing stages he upped the pace to close on the race leader Alex Albon. Then, a few corners from the chequered flag he pulled off the move that assured him of the win.
Antonio Fuoco had a tough race. He finished race 1 in third place, but was disqualified because of a problem with the pressures in the tyres he used in the first stint. Antonio thus had to start the second race at Yas Marina from the back row of the grid. By the flag, he had fought his way up to eleventh place.
